Hi OpenAlex community,

We're curious if anyone here has experienced issues getting their IR records harvested by OpenAlex/Unpaywall or if its taken a long time from the point of requesting a harvest (which we did recently).

When we check our endpoint with Unpaywall, it says it is successful but yet we only see 2 older records appearing in OpenAlex.

We also tested our URL following the instructions on the Request harvest form and the result was successful: https://api.unpaywall.org/repository/endpoint/test/https://utoronto.scholaris.ca/server/oai/request

Our records appear in CORE which also uses the OAI_DC endpoint.

A few other considerations that we've thought might be impacting getting harvested
  • Last December, we migrated to Scholaris and are now on DSpace 8.2. Our previous URL was tspace.library.utoronto.ca, now its utoronto.scholaris.ca
  • IP address(es) are being blocked - OpenAlex may be attempting to harvest from a legacy domain or may be encountering a block when accessing the new Scholaris-hosted URL.
  • We are not yet registering DOIs for IR items, but many records (30k+) have existing publisher DOIs in the metadata.

If you've encountered a similar issue or had success getting your IR records harvested, we would welcome any tips or suggestions.

Thanks!

Julia
