Dear all,
If you have use cases for which you would like to use the full data snapshot, but downloading and mounting the full database, is a too daunting prospect, you might be interesting in an initiative we launched yesterday:
ORION is an effort to coordinate amongst those making ORI resources available in the cloud, with an initial focus on Google BigQuery, (where they can be queried using SQL).
The MultiObs, Sesame Open Science, SUB Göttingen and CWTS groups have come together to work on coordination with the goal of supporting and growing use. We are providing copies of core data resources that anyone can use, including OpenAlex, OpenAIRE, DataCite, Crossref, ROR and SciELO.
This means that if you have, for example, very large API queries, queries that require the full list of authors/affiliations (not just the first 100), or if you want to combine OpenAlex with other open datasets, there is now a low-barrier way of running these against the full dataset(s).
