Austria - status of data import

Hello

I noticed some airspaces, especially class E are missing from the Austrian airspace

I'm looking into ways how that can be improved and I am in contact with Austro-Control on the issue.  

What is the status of current Austrian airspace imports? Manual, volunteer, automatic?

Hello Michael,

we are using the "official" Austrocontrol OpenAIR files for the dataset. As far as I remember, these files don't include class E airspaces. There is the possibility to manually add them to the openAIP dataset. Normally, class E is omitted due to lack of relevance for the GA. May I ask what your use-case is? Paragliding, UAVs?

the question came up in the context of hot air ballooning - so ye, small fry ;)

if it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate if the smally fry airspaces could be added

I just heard from ACG that Class E is currently not contained in their OpenAir exports either

we are looking into having that fixed

so do not waste effort yet, will report back what comes out of it
