Hi – I just downloaded two different Open Meta “.gz” files to my personal computer from this location

http://www.cebm.brown.edu/openmeta/download.html

One of them came from this link

OpenMetaAnalyst for Windows 8 (64-bit) (current version)

And the other came from a link that I don’t see now, where the 2 options were windows vs Mac. I downloaded the Windows version.

I got a message that the file contained the following virus / Trojan, and my computer automatically deleted the file.

Trojan:Win32/Zpevdo.A

Looking now at my files I see that

open_meta_analyst_win8.gz still seems to be there, but

OpenMeta-analyst_Windows.gz was deleted.

So, letting you know that I got this warning message. Has anybody else reported a virus in the file ?

Thanks – Wayne

Yes...same here but different virus

Just downloaded from same website as posted above.

I downloaded the Open Meta Analyst for windows 10 ((64 bit)

I then scanned using malwarebytes (the most updated premium version as of time of writing)

and got a message saying:

1 virus

Generic.Malware.AI.DDS found

after removal, the rest of the files seem to be fine and executable

No virus detected elsewhere on computer on repeat scan.

Not sure of open meta may be able to develop a virus free version in future.
