Hi Michael,
This is the same issue I was running into. I was advised to use the linux installer. My linux experience lags behind my Windows and Mac time, but I really liked the Windows installer. I don't need to search for a file and make it an executable. I just download it and go.

Where is the most up to date imager?

The newest one found linked from the site does not allow for successful change of passwords and the default passwords are not listed anywhere.

Thanks!

I understand your confusion, but those 2 files are simply scripts that use the "real" file which is boot.iso to create the usb stick.  Yes....they're old, but they still work.  The true usbmaker file is the boot.iso file.  In fact, if you are an Ubuntu user...you can use the program Startup Disk Creator (located in Administration) to browse to boot.iso (download it first) and create your usb stick that way.  Does the same thing.  I'm going to do some testing on the configuration tool today...if it's still broken, I'll see if Brendan can give it a tweak.  Sorry.  :-(

I'm going to give this a try at some point. Sounds promising...
