Hi all,
I want to start playing with an Arduino. I see there are actual Italian "Arduino" units and there are units offered by folks in China and other places. Is it worth the extra money to get an actual Arduino?

I would purchase the original(Italian) Arduino. If for some reason
there is a defect in the one purchased from China, the Arduino
community is less likely to be able to help you out. I believe the
Arduino Unos can be had for about $15 on Amazon.

Thanks Brendan!
My goal is to use this as an APRS beacon. So I need it to accept GPS data and transmit it through a ham radio. I'm assuming I can do this with the Uno.
