Well, it's that time of year again and it looks like the OpenWebFoundation.org domain has expired.  I'm happy to re-up it, but don't have access.

Oh, interesting. I *think* Google still registered that. Let me check. Good catch, David!

Ahh. Google has openweb.org. Looks like openwebfoundation.org (and .com) is registered to Dylan Schiemann. David Recordon is listed as the admin.

Unfortunately it looks like the parked domain is a bit spammy, so we should try to get this back sooner, rather than later.

David (Recordon) is this something you can help with?

Its officially expired now - we just got an email from Robin Cover.

I ran into David (Recordon) walking down the street a few weeks ago, I can't believe I didn't bring this up with him then ;)

In all seriousness, what needs to happen here?

I honestly don't know.

It appears to be held in a hostage-like "re-registration" state, but I don't know if the original owner is required to get it out, or if they'll just sell it to the highest bidder. I don't have any of the old account credentials myself (perhaps David Recordon does, but I doubt it) so I'm as blind as anyone else on this list.

Note that the content still exists untouched at https://sites.google.com/site/openwebfoundation, and we can point another domain at it anytime we want.

Very unfortunate situation, I agree.
