Subject: [OWF Drafting] Continuing OWFa
To: OWF Legal-Drafting:
At yesterday's board meeting there was only hurried discussion of the draft CLAs. [1]
I interjected that a CLA is effectively the same as an OWFa signed 45 days after every contribution was made. Procedurally, that would be a silly thing to require. But I'm attaching a possible solution that wouldn't be a procedural nightmare, namely a "Continuing OWFa" that automatically applies anew every time a contribution is made.
This is my redline of our existing OWFa 0.9, http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AcaZZ8cdn26HZGQ5NDdncndfMGd6Mjdwc2Rn&hl=en, that is a "Continuing OWFa".
Only a few changes were needed, so we needn't argue about all the stuff we already agreed upon in the OWFa. The few changes I did make were taken (almost) verbatim from David's draft CLAs.
Your thoughts?
/Larry
