is it that I don't have the proper rights to read this page

http://projects.opentechspace.org/

or are there really no projects posted there?

do you have project that haven't been posted?

do you need help posting them?

this page has been blank for quite a while....

I intended to post screenshots and a brief narrative of my first
experience using the new scope. But getting access to post it was
problematic.... pretty much using up all my enthusiasm for writing and
posting anything.

It's hard to imagine it ever gaining any user contributed content
without an easy path to gain access to post.

could you put together something in the document format of your preference?  (Open Office, Word, HTML, whatever... even stone tablet if that's what it takes... )

If OTS can't figure it out, I'll find somewhere to post this stuff, it may not be pretty but we need to start getting this stuff out there !!!

attach it to me in an email, print it out on paper, or even put in on one of those round, flat, plastic things we used to use way back in the 90's (I think they used to call it a Compact disc?)

Oops! Sorry folks have been having trouble getting content
up. Let Wm and I know the specifics of the troubles you've
been having and we'll either fix or replace the current
wiki.

As you say, it's not acceptable to have a wiki that folks
can't post content to. :-)

so,

looks like OTS not only needs a "working wiki", but it also need some
kind of issue tracking interface..

We now know who this issue is assigned to ... is there some way to
track status?

I sent invitations to you two.

There doesn't seem to be any way to give edit access to Google sites
to everyone. Currently, you have to ask me for write access, and I can
trivially grant it to you.

Alternatively, we could switch to a different wiki software. If we
want to do that, we should do it before people start putting lots of
stuff into Google Sites. I can easily install MediaWiki, if people
would like that.

I would _much_ prefer a mediaWiki.

google sites it still pretty crude...

can you set up some kind of issue tracker? sounds like Paul tried to
report his experience a few weeks ago... not sure if COAST is hosting
off PSU, but as I remember, the MCECS CAT supported Trac with
Subversion... (two birds)

I installed Media Wiki at http://wiki.opentechspace.org

It is publicly writable, so please edit away.

For now, let's just use this forum for issue tracking.

Not sure if this helps (or if these are trivial to get, or if this is
even what you were talking about) but I've got a few wave invites.
Happy to hand some out.

I'd really like an invite. Note sure if it is relevant to opentechspace wiki but I've got some other things I'd like to look into with it.
Now that Wm set up MediaWiki, I think it will be easier to add things.
Thanks

I'm thinking keep the MediaWiki and give Wave a try...

use Wave for the early 21st century collaboration and rapid
development real-time tool that it wants to be,

and use Media Wiki, email and mailing lists for the more static,
1990's style web presentation and collaborative toolkit that more
people are familiar with.

I don't see it as an either-or option...

Do y'all think that slot-loading iMac in the lab would work as a "wave
station" or is the HTML5 client to heavy for 2002 hardware? anybody
know if there are lighter clients than the reference release (yet) ?

here's an example ...

I noticed Scott Dixon responded to this thread.. I think Ben Jackson
is looking for you over in the Laser Cutter Board over on the techshop
forum regarding solder-paste stenciling:

http://forums.portlandtechshop.com/index.php

sounds like with wave, that request for assistance could have been
both public and targeted, but with the "old world" phpbbs model it's
just public...

I think using spare invites as a great start!

but I think OTS should reach out to google and see if they might be
able to help out in this extremely small way.. I've already
facilitated a relationship between techshop and microsoft, it'd be
nice to have google on board too...

anybody have contacts with google that might help in this case?

Seeing as how OTS was funded by a grant from Google, I suspect that *someone* (cough, Bart, cough) just might have a Google contact...
Don't know if that would help with Wave, though.

I'm also trying to figure a way of getting Apple into the picture, but
as their elegant garden has terribly high walls it's more difficult

I'm looking to set up a Android development seat, which is why I
posted about my missing android books over on the techshop forum
wishlist

http://forums.portlandtechshop.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=311

if any one knows where they are, it'd be helpful ... sounds like a
friend of mine has got some kernel debugging working in the emulator,
maybe I should check the status on that...

As for Apple I'm thinking about trying to provision an iPad dev-seat
now that they _finally_ released something...
