I did not read your message carefully, Brian.
I'll explaiin to you and the group what happened.
I got 3 messages from the spammer, not sure, but I thinki they were all in the same conversation thread. I also received a spam alert from Google saying
that the messages that started it all would be deleted automatically if I did not take action. I've had to deal with this a couple other times over the
years I've owned and/or managed, (been admin for), google groups.
I did not remember that the message that google caught in its spam trap would not hit the list at all if an admin did not remove its spam flag, and I'm
not sure that this is always the case.
At any rate, I'll take a look, and eventually look at the way the spam filtering is supposed to work.
I am not sure that it wasn't your spam filter that caught this instead of it never having been publicly visible either, but I think it more likely that it
was indeed hidden from everyone but me.
I won't be posting any more about this for now, but if we have more junk hit the group anyt time soon then we probably sould post a message or two re the
Google spam policy and how the spam trap works.
