to Open Source projects for Tads3
You who are reading this: Hi, and Welcome! =D
A bit about me: I am not a professional programmer, and have little-
to-no formal education on computers. However, I'm quite fond of TADS
3, and have been interested in pushing the envelope as much as I can.
The result of this is, of course, much ranting and frothing at the
mouth when I inevitably bite off more than I can chew with my
projects.
Such was the case with "Devil's Dungeon". Yeah, the name is kinda
stupid and there's not much of a plot other than "An Evil GM tries to
trap you in a game that's so realistic, you won't want to leave!" I
came up with a lot of (I think) quite decent code before hitting a
wall, and then it occurred to me: Why not make it an opensource
project? Others can reap the code I already came up with, use it as
they see fit, and contribute any ideas they may have and feel like
sharing.
It also occurred to me that others might be in the same boat, having
projects that they can't satisfactorily work on alone or are willing
to share. If this is you, then welcome. Welcome to you, your
projects, and your contributions to any projects posted here.
As of this posting, Devil's Dungeon isn't mine anymore. You can take
it and say, "Hey! I'll just add this and this..." tack on an ending
and publish it!, or just gut the files for your own use. Just
remember to keep it free and open.
So, enough rambling. Welcome to the group, and help yourself to some
code and cake from the table over there.
