Hey guys,
I hope you are doing well this week! Since everybody is having exams this week, and there's no significant progress on both projects we are doing right now, we won't be having bi-weekly meeting this week. But we will definitely have a meeting next week. I'm thinking Monday 4pm because that's the time when all of us are free, and I will send out emails about this later.
Now here are some updates on the current projects I am involved. For the mobile media app, we've talked to people from Campus Vinyl last week and they were impressed and agreed to work with us. The Bucknellian first rejected to work with us, but later wrote back saying that they misunderstood the purpose of the app and would reconsider this idea. But whether they agreed or not, we will include their RSS feed in the app. I have been very busy this week so haven't started the design yet, but I will do it as soon as possible.
For the start-up page for newcomers, Melissa found an awesome online IDE for doing HTML and CSS. We already created an account for our community and started designing the page. Melissa will post the link to the IDE and our account later here so everybody can see our work.
Though I am not involved in the Virtual Bucknell project, I'm pretty sure progresses are being made. Before the next meeting, I will post messages on Message Center to invite people who can help take pictures of the buildings around the Engineering Quad.
Lastly, if you are looking for summer research opportunities,I heard that Professor Alan Marchiori is looking for people to develop a mobile app with him. It's an app designed for children who take school shuttle to go to school everyday. It can send notifications to children on when they should leave their homes so they don't have to wait at the bus stop for a long time. If you are interested, please contact Prof. Alan Marchioir (
amm...@bucknell.edu) as soon as possible because the deadline for submitting proposals is next Monday.
Stay warm and good luck with the exams!
