Leadership Team Summit travel budget

Hi folks,

It came to my attention that the line item that I'm in ownership of (8310_OSM_FiT_Sustainability_LTSummit...a sub-item of Travel and Meeting Expenses) is not only for OSM team members, but rather the entire leadership team.  The budget I've requested for this line item was to cover only OSM team members, which is why it's only a fraction of the budget line item needed for the entire Leadership Team.  Regardless of the reason, this number will need to be changed if it's to cover the entire Leadership Team if...

1) we are to have this meeting separate of another community event, and/or

2) we want to run under budget.

My recommendation would be to increase this budget line item to include a more appropriate budget number.  To do so would require us to have the motion presenter approve a friendly amendment to the existing motion on the table to allow us to edit the budget before final passage....or for us to vote down the existing motion, and bring a new motion to the table to vote.

My understanding was that this was only for OSM. Why would it be otherwise? Each team has their own travel budget.

I have to agree with Vic on this one. Each team has their own travel budget and they should be used accordingly not just for traveling to individual events but for summit meetings as well.

I am not sure all teams are aware of this in the sense they actually sat Down and planned for the year.

I would say its rather important we make sure we have the plans for a LT summit 100% in place and all teams informed of the Financial implication before the budget is approved.

In 2014, each LT managed their own travel budget, including summit. Do you think they need a reminder? Remember, they are not obligated to attend a summit of course.

yeah i think they need a reminder and a chance to reprioritize their budget lineitems.
