I would imagine to a collaborative effort would be in expressing technical information in a way that laymen would 1) understand it and 2) be able to take action on it.
Hypothesis	The danger of Covid-19 is not in the number of people it is killing but the fear it spreads. Automotive accidents claim 10X as many lives as covid ever has, and the common flu kills thousands, though these numbers are never considered against covid fatalities. The fear of covid has paralysed the world and is shattering our economic infrastructure. We need a vaccine sooner than later. Estimates from labs is they should have a vaccine developed sometime next year, I don't believe our economic system can take a stall of that long. Eventually economic pressures will force people to get over their fear and then the number of cases of covid will spread like wildfire. We need a vaccine and we need it fast. If the slow point of vaccine development is procedural, then there are only so many samples a team of 30 scientists can do. However 100,000 people contributing a little in the correct framework could produce results much much much faster, like in under a month. The world needs a solution to covid-19, we don't need competition. Complete transparency with an open source solution is the only way to go.
