Hello guys,

I'm a frontend developer from Brazil. I have some experience with backend as well.

I have a project that I would like to share with you, although it's only in portuguese for now. I am working on a new version, now using React Native.
It's for those consecrating their lives to jesus by Maria, using the known method of San Luis Monfort
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pius.minhaconsagracao&hl=pt

I really really would like to join some other devs here to help developing new ideas.

My goal is not actually open source things yet, but to join and grow a team to develop catholic applications.
Is there anyone here interested, please reply me. Let's pray, plan and code together!!

Thanks !!

God bless ya!

Says I can't get it using Google's US play store.

Sorry for that 🤦🏻‍♂️

This is an app in portuguese only. It's called 'My Consecration'

We have two tabs, one with the steps for the preparation, and other one with all the prayers, where we can search them and pray. We also set the consecration date, then in the main tab(steps) it is always showing your current step

I am creating a new version using React Native.

This was just something to show my work for you guys.
If anyone have any idea, and would like a front end to help, I am available to do that.
Please contact me if you need help in any catholic project, or want to help me with mine. 😇

Henrique,

Neat app! I love this consecration and would definitely use it if it was in English.

I have an Android app for the St. Andrew Novena: praying this prayer 15 times daily from Nov 30 to Christmas. I'd love to make it cross platform. The biggest hurdle I've encountered in converting it to a "write once" framework is getting the periodic notifications to work without writing native code.

I have a couple branches started one in NativeScript and another in Flutter. I've been hearing a lot of good things about Flutter and it was pretty fun to develop with.

Nice, Mike.
I'm working on a new version for my app. Not multi language yet, but I'll do that ASAP.

I'm using react native.

I've planning a lot of Catholic applications. I just have to organize the ideas and start. I really would love to work with other Catholic Devs.

🙂🙏🏻

Guys would you like to join a slack group? This way we can be a more engaged community, knowing each other, sharing experience and working on projects together maybe.

What do you think?

I just started using Slack to communicate on the Wordpress translator channels. A slack group could be an interesting idea. When I open the sign-in page it says an invitation must be requested from the admin. Has it picked up much? If it's still active I'll join if you send me an invitation.

Hi
Sorry it took a long time to receive an answer. I'm not sure now how to proceed.
I am using Discord, what do you think about make a server there? I would love to share open source and talk about development related stuff.

I don't think this mail group is a good way to keep a clear communication.

What do you think? Please let me know :)

In fact I'm not sure how well Google Groups is maintained... I'm often seeing a number of errors in my Chrome Inspector Tools when some threads don't open. And yet, it's not simple to find a communication channel that everyone would actively use, the good thing about Google Groups is that it can be used as an interactive mailing list. I have never used Discord but if it means using yet another tool and channel, I'm not sure I would use it. I'm currently using Slack for WordPress channels, I see that the jQuery teams seem to have moved from IRC to Slack. Slack does seem to be the tool of choice nowadays for a number of open source projects.

Hey John

I agree. Slack is one of the most used. Unfortunately I don't know much catholic developers, but I would really like to participate a community like that. I use Slack in the company I work, as well.

We can try, if you want. You can join here this new link for the same slack (it's just us for now)
