Voice Comm's During Operations

Out of curiosity, can you tell us what you use for voice, and how well that works for you?

I note that Andy Harvey tried to implement zello, but he reported that the sound quality was low enough to make it unusable, and dropped it.  ( He rejected my suggestion that expecting ANY voice system to handle an English accent might overwhelm the technology.)

In the past I have used the Telex CSoft as the voice console for events.  It's completely distributed nature may it much easier to deploy and configure on the fly for an event.  While still my go to there are a number of others now in this space combining VoIP and RoIP through various connections and adapter panels.  Depending on the mission might also consider adding Wave On Cloud (Motorola),  BeOn (L3Harris) or esChat to the mix. 

PS: Not a Zello fan.  Just not Mission Critical ready.

We use zello for almost everything.  I have our channels setup for being secured as well as our DMR through a hotspot and linked to zello.

I did find out that Zello's API only works on Zello Work and not the Free one so that could be the issue for the audio not working.  it does log you in and out just fine on open non secured channels.
