It’s been a little over a month since v4 released on July 19, and I’m surprised there hasn’t been more discussion about it here. Curious to hear from others in the community:

  • Has anyone here actually run v4 yet? In what capacity — production dispatch, hobby/scanner logging, dev/testing?
  • What do you like about it so far? What’s rough or missing compared to v3?
  • For those still on v3: what’s holding you back from upgrading?

I’ve been testing v4 for a while now — poking at what could be added, removed, or improved — and submitting findings to Eric on GitHub as I go. My take from that process is that v4 solves problems v3 architecturally can’t fix; it’s not just a polish pass. I think it’s worth a real conversation here about why v4 is the right migration path rather than continuing to patch/overhaul v3.

Would like to hear real-world experiences, good or bad, especially from anyone running it for actual dispatch work vs. hobby scanner logging.
