Google Maps API

Hello everyone.  I realize this group as well as the software is really old.  But I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.    

I am trying to get the latest version of Tickets version 3.42.0 to work with Google maps.   I have registered for the API key and have it plugged into the settings as outlined.   But the maps never will work.   

I was just doing some research and wondering... has Tickets been revamped since the Google Maps 2.0 was deprecated?   Is anybody that is currently trying to use the software having any luck with Google Maps?  

We are preparing to use Tickets for a marathon that our ham team is working in late February and this is one of the things I'm hoping to solve (without diving into the code myself that is).

I don't think google maps work well with tickets as I could not myself work with my api key. tickets probably needs to have to code updated to work with google api as things have changed and most of tickets code has been modified to work with higher php version (7.4), version 8 in my opinion still has some stuff to work out but. MySQL, the highest version for that is I think 5.7. if you know more about open street maps, that most likely would be your go to making it work, but that has some issues of its own. this project hasnt seen any more updates since feb 2024 and nothing more mentioned about upcoming updates.

From my experience this week, Tickets does not appear to be built for the latest Google Map API's.   I later figured out how to do the overlay I wanted on the OSM maps and all is good.   Thank you for the ability to create overlays in Tickets!  

Thank you for the reply.  I know this project seems very quiet.  

I am an older (I'm not saying I'm old - just older - hi hi ) software developer and may invest some time into making the latest API's work as I can get to it.  But OSM will get me through the event we have coming up at the end of February.   And, for the most part, everything else seems to be working for me in PHP 8.
