Good evening all,

Three few schedule announcements this week.

1) The tai chi 18-count short form class restarts tomorrow, Monday Jan 12, from 5:45-6:45. Reminder: aim to arrive around 5:30 to settle in and warm up. Looking forward to continuing our practice!

2) Our second session of aikido essentials - a ten class session - begins this Tuesday Jan 13 from 6-6:50. Please aim to arrive around 5:45 to settle in and complete a waiver if you haven't already. As before, the class will be geared towards those with little to no martial arts experience. The two classes are free; please spread the word if you enjoy it and know others who might be interested. Current members are more than welcome to attend to assist, lightly extend their practice session before the 7-8 class, and return to basics.

3) This Tuesday from 7-8 we will begin a class experiment: a new "aikido basics" class designed for both newer students and newer teachers. For new students it will be a "stepping stone" class to the first key techniques (and first test). It will be lower impact - focused on the 5th kyu techniques with no front rolling or back falling. For newer teachers it will be a way to learn from each other and teach with fewer injury concerns. I will likely teach this class the remainder of January but hope, by the end of the month, to hand this class off to a rotating schedule of our advanced and advancing members. If you are interested in teaching in this class, please try to attend some this month for us to practice and discuss.

If you are new to the school and haven't yet signed up for our listserv, please do - this is how we share schedule changes, including last minute updates like weather closings.

Thank you, all!
-Mike
