Hi all,

We've gotten some new-year interest in a new, low impact tai chi / chi gung class starting this Spring. This would contrast the (still ongoing) form-based class, which is a longer term commitment and hard to start midstream.

Steve has offered to teach such a class session on Wednesday evenings at the dojo from 6-6:45 if enough interest is there to fill a class. Steve is looking to limit the attendance to 10-15 people. It would be open to all - regardless of of experience.

Given the uncertain weather this week, the first class would be Wed Feb 11 and the session would end on Wed April 1. The cost of the roughly two-month session would be $150 paid directly to Steve before the first class.

If you are interested in this class, please let me (or Steve, directly, at aik...@duke.edu) know by or on this Wednesday February 4th. If enough people commit to the class we'll share more with those who are interested. If not, we'll revisit in the future.

Let me or Steve know, if you're interested!

Thanks,
-Mike

Hi Steve,
I believe you have five people (Michael, Dianne, John, Jenn, Amanda) who have said YES. There are 4 maybes (Tara, Deniese, Kandi, Mark) that haven't replied to my most recent email. Now / tomorrow is probably a good time to email the whole dojo / mailing list about the possibility. I'll give you a ring tomorrow to touch base on this, but below is an example email we could start with.

Hi all,

News on a new class: Steve has offered to teach a low impact tai chi / chi gung session on Wednesday evenings at the dojo from 6-6:45. Steve is looking to limit the attendance to 10-15 people. Given the weather, the first class will be next Wed February 11. The cost of the session will be $150 paid directly to Steve. The session would be about ten classes, end date currently TBD but anticipating around early/mid-April.

If you are interested in this class, please let me (or Steve, directly, at aik...@duke.edu) know by this Wednesday February 4th with whether you are interested enough to commit to attending with. Open to all.

-Mike
