Hi all,
Four fall schedule announcements below:
Tai Chi Basics restarts this Monday Sep 8 (tomorrow!). We will again focus on the 18 movement short form. All are welcome, including returning tai chi students wanting to refresh and refocus their practice. Class will be 5:45-6:45 (please arrive around 5:30 if you can). For more information, see
https://www.openskymartialarts.com/tai-chi/ .
Aikido Essentials: Sword & Staff will be a new, beginner-focused class on Tuesdays from 6:00-6:50pm. First class will be NEXT WEEK, Tuesdays Sep 16. We will mix weapons and open hand (with no throwing or falling) to teach interested beginners the essential movements of aikido. All are welcome - including advanced students interested on solidifying basics at a modest pace, connecting dots, and lengthening their practice sessions. This will be open to both adults and focused teens.
For existing aikido students - I would like to integrate a semi-regular Bokken class into our schedule - potentially on Thursdays from 6-6:50 before aikido. If you are interested in that class please let me know with a quick email or at the dojo. If we get a small critical mass I'll aim to integrate that into our schedule and start later this month with those interested. There's much to practice.
Intermediate Tai Chi (previously on Thursday evenings before aikido) is on pause for now. I am considering some alternate structures for that class. If you are interested please do let me know so I can keep your interest in mind.
And if you know someone else who may be interested in any of these announcements, please forward. Word of mouth has often been our most reliable strategy to connect with people.
Thank you,
-Mike
