Good morning all,

Though details are TBD on both events, I want to share two dates in March we've locked in.

First, Ben Wood will be testing for nidan (2nd degree black belt) the morning of Saturday March 14th. Please attend, if you can. Details TBD, but testing will likely occur after / at the end of the morning class (which is typically from 9:45-10:45). All members of any / no rank - including any brand new beginners just now taking the intro series - are welcome to either watch or attend this class. Kaufmann Shihan will be teaching the class - which include solo and partner exercises without falls - and administering the test.

Second, John Presley is very likely to be in town from Japan and training with us - perhaps in a mini-seminar format - the following weekend, March 21 & 22. For those newer to the school, John was among the first students of Open Sky soon after its founding here in NC; John is now a 5th dan training at Hombu and accomplished teacher of iaido. Students attending the mini-seminar should feel comfortable taking falls; anyone newer to aikido but interested in robust aikido from our global headquarters in Japan are welcome to watch any or all of the seminar. Classes will likely be morning-midday both days, Saturday and Sunday.

Exact time details TBD on both events, but now that we have them nailed down to the day I wanted to share the news.

-Mike
