Good morning all,
There will be black belt testing tomorrow - Beck and Georg for nidan and Des for shodan. Steve will teach class from 9:45-10:45, a short break, and tests beginning around 11am. Tests will approximately be between 10 and 20 minutes apiece.
Members past and present, friends, family, and interested visitors are all welcome to come to watch to support our test takers. If you are planning to just watch tests, aim to arrive by 10:45.
CLASS: All members are welcome and encouraged to join us for class. There will be rolling during class - beginners who haven't yet learned to roll reliably will split off and work on related movements, so again, all are welcome to join class regardless of ability to roll/fall. (Beginners who are training regularly and interested - I'll be in touch this summer on kyu (white belt ranks) test preparation.)
FILMING: We do not have assigned videographers for these tests, but we encourage documenting their test / practice achievement. Anyone filming is welcome to join the test line - details will be shared when tests begin. I am happy to host any videos taken of tests on the dojo YouTube channel with either public or private (link only) permissions to ease sharing.
LUNCH: Beck, Georg, and Des would like to invite all interested out to a local restaurant to celebrate after the tests around noon. More on that tomorrow in person, but the tentative plan is meeting for lunch at El Restaurante Ixtapa in Hillsborough, NC - per google, a highly-rated, family-owned, authentic Mexican restaurant at 162 Exchange Park Lane. It's near Weaver St. Co-Op.
Please join us tomorrow if you can!
