I have started the process of porting Open-Robot's firmware to the
free PIC18 compiler. I will probably start with a simple version that
does not support the wireless communication b/c I imagine that most
people who are programming at this level are doing so for either the
cost saving (no wireless PCB or module) or to have complete control
over the robot. In any case a simple version will be a great starting
point.

Abe,

Interesting project. I've already got my blackfin camera and WiFi. I
intend to use the 18F4620 PIC.

I downloaded what I thought were the PIC source files, but they're
really strange! I have an old SSC compiler, so I know what to look
for. These C and H files look like HTML!

I have the 16 and 18F HighTech compilers, and I will be porting (ugh!)
the C code over to that compiler.

You have to check the files out from Google Code and they are for the
CCS C PIC Compiler, so your right in that you'd need to port them to
the HiTech Compiler. I have compiled the existing firmware for a
PIC18F4620 and it works fine, much more memory!

That would be great if you ported the firmware to the HiTech.

Good Luck, Abe
