Hi everyone.
I am Rishabhdeep Singh, and I am doing Google Summer of Code with OpenRoberta this year.
I am working on the project: OpenRoberta Standalone App
Project: The number of users of the lab increases daily. Nevertheless, there are still a lot of schools with no or limited internet access. Is there a way to help them? One idea could be to integrate the server in a web view and run it fully locally. Ideally, this will customize the web-UI to e.g. hide the menu for user-login etc. We also think about to combine it with parts of the USB program to allow working with local robots (since otherwise e.g. the lego-ev3 would try to connect to the online server).
If all that work, it would be interesting to e.g. package this as a mobile app (e.g. for Android).
The proposal for my project is here and the Branch on which I am working is here.
Before the Second Evaluation I have completely set up the Desktop App and it is working fine. I am currently working on the Single-User part of the Desktop App and some UI changes. Some of them are removing the Gallery and Login for the Single-User. I have made some features to work and currently working on the others where I am facing some difficulties which will be resolved soon.
More about the running of Desktop App and other things can be found here under the OpenRoberta Standalone App.
Thanks,
Rishabhdeep Singh
