The only way I can get PHD2 to connect to my QHY 5III mono guide camera is to connect via the "Windoms WDM-style webcam camera" option where as the QHY 5LII-M has a dedicated connection named after it in PHD2's drop down list of cameras. Why is this? also it asks me to select a resolution and I can only select up to 1920 by 1200 and its full resolution is 3072*2048. What is happening here? The WDM_style connection seems to be the only way I can connect. Is this just simply too new of a camera to work with PHD2? Thanks for replying.

Hi Nick,

You can try installing the QHY ASCOM camera driver and connecting to it that way.

Another option would be to try the QHY Test version, a build of phd2 that uses a newer SDK from QHY.

Ok, good, so they are recommending using the ASCOM driver.

I would recommend disregarding the reference to PHD2 2.5., better to use the latest version of PHD2 from http://openphdguiding.org/downloads/

Also, it is better to use an ASCOM connection to your mount if possible and not use On-camera as they suggest.
