Hy Guys,

it seems there is a problem when, using INDI camera (webcam), I try to begin looping for frames and focus.

PHD2 connects correctly to the INDI server, opening the Ekos window, and clicking the start button (under Start and Stop Ekos)

Once PHD2 is connected to the INDI server, I click the Driver drop-down box in PHD2 and select the camera.

Then I click on the begin lopping exposure for frame and focus box and the result is a message ""unsupported type or read error loading fits file”

I attach 2 screenshot.

Everyone has this problem?

Ideas to solve?

Many Thanks!

Hi Luca

we'll need to see your logs to see what's going on - how to do this is here: https://openphdguiding.org/getting-help/

(even if your guidelog is empty the debug log is helpful)

just curious you mentioned webcam - PHD doesn't really support video mode (usually there's a different way to access your camera that video) - you want something in the 1-5 seconds per exposure range, not the many frames per second mode.

SOLVED
Thanks to Andy Galasso.
PHD2 wants a monochrome picture; in KStars (INDI server) the picture were served in color.
Changing the prefs in Main Menu of INDI panel in KStars solved the problem.

As far as I know, there is not a stand-alone INDI server for MAC yet. You have to compile or use KStars.
Here, for a discussion about INDI Server on Mac (if I understand correctly)

You have two solution to install and run a standalone INDI server on the Mac.
Look at the documentation for  INDIWebManager and my INDIStarter

Installer are available from
INDIWebManager:  https://github.com/rlancaste/INDIWebManagerApp/releases

Luca,

I see you use a webcam, but for a reason I ignore the webcam driver is no more compiled by default with INDI version 1.8.4.
If have fixed my build script to force the compilation of this driver.
So if you already downloaded IndiStarter with INDI 1.8.4 please download it again, the file has the same name but is now a bit bigger and it include the webcam driver.

Hello Patrick,

the headers both columns are not specifically “titled” as you can see looking the attached screenshot.
Ho may I remove items from the list?
I will try soon with INDI webcam and my Mount (with Starfi)

Thank you to report this issue!
I not remarked it because this occur only when there is no previous saved configuration.

This is now fixed :

Patrick,

something strange.
First, It seems that starting an INDI Server on my mac book is no more a quite operation.
Even if I try using INDIStarter or KStar … the cursor run and run and then the app (both) cannot works properly.
I updated to the last version of INDISTarter (the one with the titles corrected).
I notice also the, using the Client INDI in INDStarter, it do not update the box when I choose for the webcam the 16 bit grayscale.
You can see it in the screenshot attached.
Notice in the LOG16 bit Grayscale ON; but the box is 8 bit RGB

Obiously, PHD2 also crashes because it seems it cannot load nor connect to the INDI Server (with INDIStarter or KStars)
What could be happened for you?
Before it was very simple instead
