Hi Guys,

I'm new to this group.
Used PHD for several years now without problems.
Recently i updated to PHD 2.6.0. and all worked well.
My guiding cam is a Imaging Source DFK 21au04. It connects as a "Windows WDM-style webcam camera".
Today i tried a new guiding cam. An Atik GP b&w camera ( http://www.atik-cameras.com/product/atik-gp/ )
I did not manage to let it work. Error message "No Atik camera found".
I must say it is not in the list of camera's. The list shows four Atik camera's so i tried them all, but no result.
Is there a chance that it will added to the list, or am i asking a stupid question ?

Thanks
Antoon

Antoon,

Have you download the Atik universal camera software http://www.atik-cameras.com/downloads/  eg in Nebulosity I connect to another main imaging Atik camera "Atik Universal" in the dropdown. There's also probably an Ascom Atik driver for your camera in that software pkg.

Cheers,

Colm

Hi Colm,

Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes of course i installed the Atik universal software, and the camera works exellent with the Atik capture program.
But my goal is to use it with PHD2 because it is very sensitive and has very small pixels.
I tried Nebulosity's Atik universal as you said, but again an error message "No cameras found".

Regards
Antoon

Hi Antoon,

If you've checked your cables and know your connection is sound, downloaded and installed latest Atik driver software, cannot connect with Nebulosity or PHD2, it works with Atik capture programme probably time to contact Atik and report a driver bug?

Only other thing I can think of is the Atik capture programme is maybe loading on startup and locking your driver. There could be a permissions problem on the folder where the driver files are installed.

Press ctrl/alt/del   buttons together on your keyboard  and bring up task manager and see if Atik capture programme is active, click your capture programme and  'end task' Then restart Nebulosity or PHD2 to see if they pick up the driver.

Cheers,

Colm

Hi Colm,

IT WORKS !!!! :)
The problem was an old Atik ascom driver.
I installed the drivers from the disk that came with the camera, and it did not work.
But i found an updated driver on the Atik website and installed it.
My laptop did an automatic reboot, and when i tried after that, i was able to let the camera work
as an Ascom camera. When i clicked on "Properties"...it was there, and i could choose it !! :)

Thanks very much Colm for helping me out.
Best Regards
Antoon
