I am putting together a refractor-scope system, and trying to use PHD2 to control an iOptron HEM 27 EC mount, with an off-axis ZWO ASI mini 120 camera. The software is running on a Macbook Pro and OS 15,6,
 My inputs to PHD2 are:
Guide camera: ZWO ASI Camera
3.75 um pix, binned 1 pix, 8 bit, 600 mm focal length
GC  USB ST4 (and several other tries at Mount)
guide speed 0.50
High precision (or not) encoders:

"The response is that the mount interface does not provide pointing information and cannot provide pointing information."
This sounds to me that this setup will not provide gu;iding which obviates the point of tracking.

I know that iOptron can do controlling with their own camera as a tracking scope.

Does anyone have experience with this or some way to do tracking with PHD2  and this hardware combination??

Since you're running on a Mac, your best option is probably to use an INDI mount connection to the iOptron.  Otherwise, you are stuck with using ST-4 guiding.  In the PHD2 new-profile-wizard, that means choosing '"On Camera' and connecting the guide camera to the guider port on the mount.  Please spend some time reading the User Guide to understand how these connections are done and what trade-offs are involved.
