Hi!
I know telescope mounts come intwobasictypes:equatorialand altazimuth.
I can use German Equatorial mount with PHD Guiding.
But I still want to know Can I use altazimuth mount with PHD Guiding?And why?

Hi Yan,
You'll need to put your alt-az mount on a wedge (polar aligned). Then PHD2 will work just fine.
Otherwise, with an alt-az mount the field of view in a guide camera rotates over time. The rate of rotation depends on where the scope is pointed. Guiding will keep your guide star centered but your images in your main camera will have star trailing as the field rotates around the guide star. You will also need to recalibrate periodically since PHD2's calibration will become invalid as the field rotates.
