Your input needed: reverse dec output after meridian flip

Hi All,

We're looking for feedback on the Reverse Dec output after meridian flip setting.  We are trying to put together a list of which mounts require this setting and which ones do not.

Here are the ones we know about already:

Mounts that need Reverse Dec output after meridian flip

• Software Bisque - Paramount

Mounts that do not need Reverse Dec output after meridian flip

• Astro-Physics - all models
• Losmandy - Gemini-2

If you know your mount's setting and it's not on the list, please post the following info to this thread.

• Mount Manufacturer and mount model
• Reverse dec output setting: Needed / Not needed

Specifically I was looking for this setting:

If you are able to do automated meridian flips successfully now with the 5.63 iOptron ASCOM driver, do you have that option checked or un-checked?

Ok, anybody have any info on Celestron mounts? EQMOD? SkyWatcher SynScan? SiTech controllers? 10Micron? Meade? Takahashi? Any others?

Hi Andy - both the Celestron CGX and the much older CGE mounts do an automated flip (box unchecked).  Don't know about the CGX-L but I'd think it does the same.  It's highly probable that all Celestron mounts with the Nexstar+ hand control provide this facility.

Celestron CGE knows which side it is on, but I'm not sure how the dialog is set, never having looked at it, but will check when I get home tonight. I will let you know.

The older CGE I have, again, knows which side it is on, and does not have the relevant box checked.

that's a good idea. Beginners will have an easier start.

Driver: TemmaLite v6.2.4
Reverse dec output setting: Not needed

The iOptron CEM120 (non encoder) operates UNchecked.

If memory serves my late and great Celestron CGE Pro was also UNchecked.
