I just got a harmonic drive mount and my guiding wasn't too good. I realized that even though i was taking .5 second exposures, there was a 2 second delay between each exposure. I've been trying subframe guiding to make the download time quicker but it will not work. Every time it tries to make the subframe the star isn't visible and its a mess of noise. I took screenshots of what it looks like trying to make the subframe and also one is just a plain exposure when the subframe option was not toggled. To add more to the behavior it seemed frequently like it was finding a star in the bottom left corner of the image, it would try to center the star moving the focus box and eventually it would meander its way down to the bottom of frame. I couldn't see a star there so I think it was locking onto noise. I've tried using a different cord and my speeds won't improve. I'm not sure what to try.
I have a svbony sv905c guide camera with the sv165 guidescope. My mount is a Teseek 14 and I use EKOS
