Using PHD2 and SharpCap with ZWO ASI 120 camera

Hi, I wanted to try using my finderscope with a ZWO ASI120 camera to do Go-To Platesolving with PHD2. It seemed to work find initially and then it seemed SharpCap was stalling before doing the Platesolve. I wondered if it was the moon rising and brightening the sky or maybe it was because 2 programs were connected to the same camera.

We can't tell you anything definitive without seeing your logs:

However, I can tell you from experience if you get camera errors, you are probably trying to access the camera at the same time with both apps, and that is a recipe that won't work. Try disconnecting the camera from PHD and then using sharpcap to platesolve, and then switch back.

Hi Brian, I am relatively new to PHD2. Next time I can try without PHD2 on at all. I am not sure why I did have it on; I guess to keep the image centered because this exercise was strictly visual.
