Hi everyone,

Last night, PHD2 crashed or became unresponsive during my imaging session. I am using Sequence Generator Pro for imaging, and in the PHD2 log, the last recorded action appears to be a command to or from my QHY guide camera.

00:06:07.163 05.704 7772 QHY get single frame ret -1 bpp 8
00:06:07.163 00.000 7772 QHY: CancelQHYCCDExposingAndReadout returns status 4294967295

I’m trying to figure out what caused the crash. Could it be that the camera disconnected? Is there a potential issue with the camera itself, the USB cable, or the camera driver? Or could something else be the root cause?

This isn't the first time I’ve encountered this problem, so I’d really appreciate any insights on how to troubleshoot it properly and get to the bottom of this.

Has anyone else experienced similar crashes, and if so, what was the solution?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
David

Hi everyone,

After further testing on a different PC with different USB cables, I’m fairly certain that the issue is with the camera itself. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to work properly in any setup. So, I just wanted to update the thread and let you know that this troubleshooting effort can be considered resolved. Thanks again for your time and support!

Clear skies,

David

Thanks for letting us know.  As long as you were running the latest version of the camera drivers, it probably is a camera problem.  Hope you can get it fixed.

Regards,
Bruce
