I am confused by this guiding.

Please let me know what is happening.

Guiding appears to be good but apparently no guiding. Hard to believe that mount could track that well.

Hi Don

Are you sure you sent the correct log files?

I saw about 20 runs <1 minute and 2 runs of about 5 minutes

Of the two runs, the final one had dec guiding disabled and shot off the chart, so predictably high Dec RMS.
The RA RMS was a modest .637" total RMS: (dec in red)

The other 5 minute segment had Dec guiding enabled, but it shows signficant backlash and could have used backlash compensation. RA RMS was nearly 2".

Doing a guiding assistant run after your calibration will help with recommendations

One suggestion that will help RA is to use the PPEC algorithm with a period of 501, and disable auto adjust: (note on period: the period measurement varied quite a bit between segments, so look up your mount's primary period value and use that. this value is an estimate)

Thanks.

Maybe not. Here they are again.

The short runs are just getting set up. There was a 23 min run at 21:45:52 which shows Total RMS at 1.24" and Polar alignment error of 1.5'. with lots of jitter.

The later run where DEC drifts is my fault for walking away from mount w/o checking N/S correction.

I will check your suggestion on PPEC

I am making progress with this Celestron f10/CGEM as I am using .63 reducer and off axis with ASI174 mini. f10 with guide scope is nearly impossible in suburban skies. Also, the off axis will not work without focal reducer as stars are too dim.
