Greetings!

I successfully modded a Microsoft Lifecam-HD 3000 to be used as my Autoguider camera on a 9x50 Guider Scope. Currently I'm running it @1280x720 in YUY2 video mode and the guiding quality with my 130/650 Newton looks quite alright. Microsoft states that the Webcam is also able to do still images @1280x800 and I would bet that I had that option within PHD2 to select that resolution with RGB mode when configuring/installing the camera for the first time. I don't know at what point this option vanished from the selection menu of PHD2 but currently there is only YUY2 mode available for me. I tried to deinstall/reinstall the drivers and using different PHD2 versions but I can't make it work at all.

Do you guys have any idea why it's the way it is? Any workaround would be awesome!

Hardware:
Macbook Pro mid 2010
Windows 10
Microsoft Lifecam HD-3000 (WDM Driver in PHD2)

Hi Domi,

You probably know this already but just in case you don't, click here to select the camera and the camera mode:

The options and modes that pop up are determined by the camera driver so if you are seeing anything different from what you saw in the past, it pretty much has to be due to the camera driver.

Hi Andy,

thanks for the quick reply.  I was thinking the same regarding the driver as it shouldn't be a problem with PHD2. It seems that there are currently two drivers available for me (stock Win X and the driver from the installer package from my cam) but PHD only shows YUY2 as an option with both of them. It seems that Windows has used a different driver when I first connected the webcam but I can't find out which one it was.

I know that this group isn't really the right platform for this particular problem but maybe there is someone with a similar problem?
