Hi Derek. In the process of switching guide cameras, it looks like you’ve allowed something to be loose or flopping around. Here’s one example:

The Dec motor wouldn’t normally be running at all here, yet you can see that the guide assembly abruptly shifted by over 10 arc-sec. That corresponds to only about 10 microns, 1/5th of the thickness of a human hair. Because you’re using a guide camera with such extremely tiny pixels, there is an extreme requirement for complete rigidity in everything.
Good luck,
Bruce

Ok, just to be clear – your current problem has nothing to do with guiding or to the fact you upgraded your PHD2 release. Because of the guide camera you chose and its tiny pixel size, you may find this a frustrating problem to solve – you have just about zero tolerance.
Good luck with it,

You should of course do whatever you want with the software but I think you are starting to flail at this point. If the calibration button is yellow, it’s trying to tell you something important – hover the mouse over the icon and see what it says. None of what you’ve described has anything to do with the new release. If you can’t run the Guiding Assistant for an extended period without getting these big guide star excursions, you have a mechanical problem of some kind. When the Guiding Assistant is running there is no guiding being done and the mount declination motor isn’t running.
Hope you can get it sorted out,
