I use an Orion StarShoot 3MP Planetary Imager & AutoGuider.  The camera supports 2x2 binning which is recommended for autoguiding (the pixels are small: 3.2). However, the camera settings panel in PHD does not include the option to set the binning.

Has anyone else had this problem... or know a way around it?

I use the ASCOM driver for the camera:  "Orion Starshoot High resolution PIAG Camera (ASCOM)"

Thanks,
Les Dickens

Les,

PHD2 will show the binning options provided by the camera's ASCOM driver.  If you don't see any binning options it means one of two things:
  a) the camera ASCOM driver reports that that binning is not supported (likely)
  b) there is a bug in PHD2 and phd2 is incorrectly interpreting the result from the ASCOM driver (unlikely)
We have not seen your phd2 debug log so I'll have to guess it is (a). In that case you'll need to contact the ASCOM driver provider and get them to fix the ASCOM driver.

Hi Les.  Just one other thing that tripped up another user – PHD2 needs to be connected to the camera before the binning control will appear.

Hi Bruce.  Yes, that tripped me up also!  The binning options are there now that the camera is connected.
Thanks!
Les
