Hi guys,
I recently received a replacement imaging laptop and have just spent the past 4 straight hours struggling and fighting to get everything installed again as it is clear tomorrow night and i want everything to be ready. PHD2 is my last step but i now have a banging headache and am really struggling to find the source of this last problem.
I am trying to get PHD2 to recognize my Orion Starshoot Autoguider. I am not very technically minded but as far as i am aware i have installed all the drivers necessary for this to work, the red light on the guider is now on so i know that whatever i installed last did so something. I tried downloading and installing the top 3 links under the Software Downloads on the right hand side of this page:
http://www.telescope.com/Orion-StarShoot-AutoGuider/p/99565.uts
In PHD2 i click 'Connect Equipment' then under camera i select my 'Orion SSAG Camera (ASCOM)'. When i click Connect i get a error message saying - ASCOM Driver Problem: Connect: (ASCOM.SSAG) Could Not Connect - i have visited the Ascom site and followed their Camera driver link and installed the link given.
Only thing i can think of is that its something to do with me using this new Windows 8 laptop (which i am really having a hard time getting used to) and apparently the SSAG can have issues with Windows 8 and USB3 although i am using USB2. Can anybody help me out here, i am really frustrated here.
Sorry for the rant, just want to give as much info as possible to help with getting a solution.
Thanks to anybody that can help!
Callum
