The release notes to the recent version update refer to changes made to the calibration process that benefit encoder mounts. I was just curious if there is anywhere I could learn about what those changes were?

It's just a minor efficiency optimization. For non-encoder mounts, the CA works pretty hard to be sure any Dec backlash is cleared before starting a calibration. So if you were repeating a calibration for some reason without doing an additional slew, the CA will normally move the Dec axis north by about a degree. On encoder-equipped mounts, this really isn't necessary because there shouldn't really be any backlash to clear. The change you're asking about eliminates that extra movement for encoder mounts.
