Greetings Everyone,

I am new to PHD2, and I am trying to get my mount to be recognized in the software.  What selection for a mount do I use in the set-up. I have tried all the available selections... nothing seems to work.

Thanks in advance for the assistance,

John

Hi John

I don’t know your mount, but typically you need to download software to connect it.

Looking at Skywatcher, there’s a synscan driver – have you installed that?

http://skywatcher.com/download/software/ascom-driver/

Thanks

Brian

Thanks Brian... I tried that one already.  I have the synscan app on my iOS devices, and it works fine, even with the skywatcher remote wifi dongle.  It just will not work direct thru a USB hub direct to Win10 PC PHD2.

I wish there was a wifi device that would work thru the usb hub and trans/recv thru a hub.  I already have stellarmate.. but it obviously does not use ascom drivers.

Appreciate your assistance though... if you have any additional thoughts on this please let me know.  I need a totally remote 12v rig if possible.

Hi John

i'm not sure I understand your response. You asked about which mount type to use to connect to PHD - i was referring to the ascom driver for your mount on that page (which I guess connects via your hand unit) - you install it and it should show up in PHD as the mount type. Am I on the same page or am I missing something?

Hi. You connect using an eqdir cable from the mount to a spare port on the stellarrnate. Connect using indi-eqmod driver. Make sure the mount is connected before connection with phd2 and don't forget to choose PHD2 as the guide method in your EKOS profile.

We are on the same page... I just worded it badly.  Sorry, my bad.
So... I need to connect thru the hand unit? Then the mount selection will show in PHD2? I already have the proper cable you speak of... Ok... I did not know I still had to use the hand unit.  I have it connected directly from mount to USB hub. I will try your suggestion.

Thanks... John

Thanks for your reply... I already have my 3 cameras into the stellarmate, with the mount to a 3.0 USB hub, then from hub to stellarmate in the 4th port.  Where can I d/l the indi-eqmod driver? Stellarmate I suppose? I'll check.
I have been operating under a self-induced false impression that EQMod was for DSLR cameras only.  I use a ZWO Mini 120MM, Zwo 290MC, and the Polemaster.  The learning curve is indeed steep in this endeavor :-)

Appreciate your assistance!

The Stellarmate already has it. You don't need to do anything.

No, eqmod is for mounts, not cameras. You need one of these cables to
connect it:
