I have two Skywatcher SynScan EQ5 Motor Controllers, the good news is the standard one works fine, the second one however will not auto guide.
My second motor controller has SynScan EQ5 "Pro" printed on the front and includes a USB port and a red LED power light, I would like to use this controller as it would allow me to remove the SynScan hand set from my rig.
I can control my telescope using a Prolific cable plugged into the motor controllers USB port if I increase the com port baud rate on my PC (and in the Ascom driver settings) but PHD2 Manual Guide does not work (motors dead).
There is nothing wrong with PHD2 or the cables but I suspect the PHD2 software may operate at the original baud rate.
Has anybody been here before and is there a fix?

Cheers

Hmm, I don't understand what you are trying to do. The only Prolific cables I'm aware of are for converting a Type A USB port to a serial port, either TTL or RS-485. I don't see how you would use one of these to plug into the type B port on the mount, I'm assuming that is what you have.

I'm just getting started with PHD2 and my Orion Atlas II mount, which I believe is based on a SynScan. I haven't looked into the similarities/differences yet, but perhaps I can help more in the near future.
