Guide sensor on ASI2600MC duo

How do I know that PHD2 is actually accessing my guide sensor on my ASI2600MC duo?

Check what camera PHD is using in the opening menu.

There are these crossing arrows that you click on and can see both your main (ASI 2600 and the guide camera). Just make sure the guide camera is the one choosen.

Also in the rare occasion the wrong camera was choosen, my main camera could not function as as it should until i fixed which camera was for guiding.

Clear as mud.

Jeff, I'm not the expert for the PHD2 group but I do have an ASI2600MC Duo.  When you look at the PHD2 equipment, look for ASI220MM Mini (or something very similar) and I'm pretty sure that is true for all similar programs what want to access your guide sensor.

Have you tried this or are you running into problems? 

The ZWO software exposes the two sensors as separate cameras in ascom. There's nothing special about how this works within PHD2. You select the guide 'camera' in the pulldown menu

Ok, I get an ASCOM 1 & ASCOM 2 choice when setting up profiles. How do I know which is the guide camera and which is the imaging sensor?

You choose one and assign the camera you want to it in the configuration option (the wrench icon next to it)

It's happened to me, so I point that out.

If PHD is accidentally trying to use your main camera as it's guide camera, your main camera cannot function as it should.

That will lead you back to those settings in PHD. A simple fix for a baffling problem.
