Guiding camera S1-5000A from Moravian Intruments

Dear Andy,

we have used this camera for more than one year without any problem with PHD2. Since several weeks (I do not know exactly how long) we cannot connect the camera anymore:

-) in the camera window, the S1-5000A is shown including it's ID

-) after open the properties window, a selection between 8-bit and 16-bit read mode is shown with the remark "...conncet a camera first to get read modess"

The S-5000A works with a fixed 12-bit read mode.

Trying so search for the root cause with the help of AI, it tells me, that the native driver does not provide  this information to PHD2.

I contacted Moravian Instruments who told me as follow: It is not enough just using their native driver gxUSB.dlll but you need to modify it using SDK tool. This is their answer in detail:

I believe what I wrote previously:

1. Ask the camera if it even supports setting of read mode (GetBooleanParameter( gbpReadModes )) and do not call the SetReadMode if it does not.
2. Call SetReadMode regardless if the camera supports it, but the ignore if the call returns FALSE.

is enough information he needs. Please notify him we are ready to sooperate and support him as best as we can.

Acc. to AI, PHD2 can work also with 12-bet read mode. 

Could you please be so kind "and tell PHD2, when usind C1-5000A, it shall use it'S 12.bit read me?" Since there is no alternative read mode availabe, the selection window is not needed.

We are using PHD and pHD2 for many, many years with it's ecellent algorithm, we would be very happy if we could continue with the guiding software.

As far as we can tell, there isn't any new information here.  So we need to see the debug log file from a session where you failed to connect to the camera.
