When I choose  Bad-pixel Map in the Darks menu in order to add a bad pixel map, the image window has suddenly changed to a rectangular shape, and PHD2 shows the following message.

"For refining the Bad-pixel Map PHD2 is now displaying raw camera data frames, which are a different size from ordinary guide frames for this camera."

After closing Refine Bad-pixel Map, I get the normal image size, which is 752*580.

I've installed SX native driver, which I've been using for a long time.  With Ascom driver, which I rarely use,  this problem does not happen.
Is this a driver problem rather than PHD2?

Thanks in advance,

masami

This isn’t a “problem”, that’s why the message was shown.  The LodeStar camera has an interlaced sensor so drivers make their own decision about how to handle that.  The ASCOM driver uses one approach, the PHD2 native driver uses another.  Either way works, they just have somewhat different trade-offs and use different techniques for re-assembling the correct image.  In order to show you all the individual pixels in the bad-pix map, PHD2 uses this temporary display technique.  It isn’t a problem, it’s intentional, and the resulting bad-pix map will work fine.

Regards,

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Understood.  I think I will try to use the ASCOM driver for the next session.
Thank you very much.
