Hi all

Hoping I can get some direction to solving a vexing problem in that my guiding, stops and will not restart, sometimes during an image run and definitely, if I do not have the PHD2 on the front screen, it will stop. What I mean by that is if I do a Calibration run with PHD2, the screen below will be active, sitting on top of NINA.

If I go out of the Imaging screen and say, to the Sequencer page to make some modifications to the Sequence, the PHD2 screen will go into the background, (as expected), and there is a high potential, it will stop guiding.

Another trigger seems to be the pause between data acquisition when Dither is moving the scope. Image capture starts but the guiding does not.

When it stops, I get the error seen below. Normally, it is set at 15 seconds and the thought was, increase the waiting period but it still with almost same frequency, times out even at 60+ seconds.

Not sure what is going on and am hoping some one has seen this before and has some advice.

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Bryan

Should have done that ahead of my post. My apologies.

There's a sizable Trouble-Shooting section of the User Guide that describes how to trouble-shoot this problem:

This is a hardware-related problem, nothing to do with the user interface or what's happening with various windows on your PC.  If you're using a USB cable that came with the camera, that's probably the first place to look.

Good luck,
Bruce

Thanks Bruce.

Thanks for ruling out PHD2. I have the app pretty well tuned and this opportunity showed up and I was not sure where to focus my energies.

The app has been providing excellent guiding, (subject to good seeing of course). Here is a screen shot from a couple of weeks ago, 0.18 RMS so I know what it is like when this system works well. That night was good for 6 hours of phenomenal guiding.

Thanks for the link to the article, will chip away at the examples and suggestions in it and report back, once the issue has been solved.

Cheers
