Hi,

I have a problem to run my old ALCCD5-Autoguider with PHD2 2.5.0.

The ALCCD5 is the same hardware like the QHY5.

I have following configuation:

- Win7 Home Premium 64-bit
- Ascom Platform 6SP1
- the QHY5Drv64V13-08-13-Windows-Driver
- the QHY5Ascom-V40 - Ascom-Camera-Driver

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the same maschine, the Camera works fine with PDH 1.14.0:
PHD 1.14.0 --> Ascom --> CMOS QHY5 Camera --> everything works fine

But in PHD2 2.5.0 I get following error:
PHD2 2.5.0 --> Ascom --> CMOS QHY5 Camera --> ASCOM-Teiber-Problem: Verbindung: (ASCOM.QHY5) Could not Connect)

Am I doing something wrong?

Hope someone has an idea!

Thank
Martin

Martin,

If the camera's ASCOM driver worked in PHD1 it should continue to work in PHD2.

Pleas post a link to your Debug Log and welll take a look.

Hello Andy,

thank you for the prompt feedback:

I uploaded the Debug-Log here:

http://www.martinhauser.de/bilder/PHD2_DebugLog_2015-11-28_085109.txt

I also wondered, that the Ascom-Treiber works in PHD 1.14.0 but there are problems in 2.5.0.

May we find the reason.

Best regards
Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for uploading the log.  We may be a bit stuck here now.  We rely on the ASCOM driver to provide information about the cause of the failure and we put whatever information the ASCOM driver gives us into the log file.  In the case of the QHY ASCOM driver the only information that was given was "Could not Connect" and nothing more. Other ASCOM drivers give much more comprehensive information.

I really cannot think of any reason why any ASCOM driver would connect in PHD1 but not in PHD2. This is the first time we have heard of such a problem.

I hate to say it, but I think you will need to contact QHY to see if they can help.

Grasping for straws... is there any chance the camera was already connected in another application (like PHD1) when you tried to connect in PHD2?  If so, please try again with no other applications connected to the camera. Also, a reboot could not hurt to try (try connecting the camera in PHD2 first after the reboot, do not connect to PHD1 first.)

Hello Andy,

yes, it is definitely a good idea to do a reboot and start only PHD2. I tried and get the same error.

What I do now, is to ask "Astrolumina" for a older version of the Ascom-Driver I also will explain me issue.

I'll keep you up to date.

Thank you a lot!

Best regards
Martin
