Hi Guys,
Would it be possible for you  to program a feature into PHD2 that  will allow it to simulate guiding when connected to a camera  or scope simulator?
I'm working on an automated process and a feature like that  would be great to do some testing. At the present when I have PHD2 connected to a camera simulator and  scope simulator  and tell it to start guiding the first thing it does is try to calibrate. The calibrate fails because the star doesn't move.

A check to see if it's connected to a scope or camera simulator and then skip the calibrated step and go right to guiding would be a big help in testing software.

Thanks

Nor,

That feature is already available. In the Connect Equipment window select Simulator for your camera and On-camera for your mount. Optionally, select Simulator for your AO.

Just make sure you are using "Simulator" to get the built-in PHD camera simulator, not one of the ASCOM simulators (which all have the word "ASCOM" in them.)

The Cam Dialog works for the simulator and allows you to tweak lots of stuff.

Several people have overlooked this and asked this same question, so maybe we need to change the name from Simulator to something more explicit, like "PHD Camera Simulator".

Nor,

We also (mostly) have that already too. After you have connected the simulator and calibrated, next time you start PHD2 re-connect the simulator (shift-click the Connect equipment icon), then do Tools => Restore calibration data. Then you are ready to guide.
