Hi Andy-san,

I am currently working on translating the help files.
The consistency of the documentation and images in the following sections is questionable.

Basic Use > Equipment Connection > Camera Selection > Section of ASCOM Camera Properties and Multiple Cameras of the Same Type

ASCOM Camera Properties
If you choose an ASCOM camera, you'll also be able to access the ASCOM setup dialog for that camera by clicking on the properties button immediately to the left of the 'Connect' button - In the document:

The "properties button" is correct "fork button", correct?

Also,
Multiple Cameras of the Same Type
If your computer is connected to multiple cameras from the same manufacturer, you'll usually need to specify which camera should be used by PHD2.  You can do that by clicking on the 'fork' button to the right of the camera drop-down list - In the document:

I guess "fork button" is "properties button", right?

I think the user guide is correct. There are two buttons there.  One is a ‘fork’ button, the second is the ‘properties’ button.  They aren’t the same.  The ‘fork’ button is to the left of the ‘properties’ button. The red arrows in the user guide correctly point to the two different buttons.   The ‘fork’ button icon will only show the two branches if you have two cameras from the same manufacturer.

Properties button:

Fork button:

Thanks, I see, 'fork' translates to 'branch', but maybe I shouldn't think too much about it, but if you look closely at the 'properties' button, it looks like a 'fork' and a 'knife' used for eating.

Hi,

Sorry, I'm not familiar with GitHub.
When I access the Wiki link on the PHD2 Google Forum Wiki from the translated CHM file, it asks me to sign in to GitHub, but this does not allow me to see the Wik page, correct?

Hi Bruce,

v2.6.11dev4 Missing the following controls in Help/Advanced/Guides tab, Why?

'Stop guiding when mount slews'

Help Documentation:
● 'Stop guiding when mount slews' - prevents PHD2 from trying to continue     guiding when the mount is being slewed, often by an imaging automation app.

It should normally be left checked..

Best regards,

nabePla

The UI control is only shown when guiding is being done using an ASCOM or INDI mount connection.  If you are using the simulators, it won’t be shown.  Many of the controls on the Advanced Settings tabs are state-dependent in this way.  The code is stable and hasn’t been changed for years – you should assume it works correctly.

Thanks Bruce-san, I understand.

However, to avoid confusing users, if the documentation for this UI control is to be posted in this section, it would be more appropriate to supplement it with the sentence "This control is only displayed when guiding with an ASCOM (or INDI) mounted connection". (I would add to the translation)

Yes, please do so.

Not all users who use PHD2 guiding are guiding with ASCOM (or INDI) mounted connections, some may not be using them.

Not only the content of this document, but the screenshots in the help section must be consistent with the documentation in that section.

Hi Bruce-san

How about the following text portion which I believe is contradictory?

Trouble-shooting and Analysis / Calibration and Mount Control Problems / Validating Basic Mount Control - the Star-Cross Test

Here are the steps for running the test:
 1. Set the mount guide speed to 1X sidereal.  Bring up the 'Manual Guide' tool in PHD2 and choose an initial pulse size - start with, say, 5 seconds.

First, the 'Manual Guide' tool dialog does not have items to set the 'Mounting Guide Speed' and 'Initial Pulse Size'.
Therefore, I propose the following text structure:

The following are the steps of a test that can be performed automatically using the Star-cross Tool:  // (Of course, "Star-cross Tool" is a link setting)
1. set the mount guide speed to 1x the sidereal speed. Select an initial pulse size. For example, start with 5 seconds.

Therefore, the following text at the end is duplicative and should be deleted:
PHD2 also has a star-cross test tool, described here: Star-cross Tool.  You can use that to automatically perform the test steps described in 1-5 above.

I didn't notice this inconsistency in text notation this time when I translated v2.6.8 in the past, but I'm not sure if users haven't pointed it out since then, or if it's been this way until now.

The translation work is still in progress, but there are some other small errors in the document content, which will be presented as a list file after all the translation work is completed.

Just submit a complete list when you’re done rather than dribbling these things in as you go.  When I have time,  I’ll look at them.  I’m working on a number of more substantive things right now and there will be additions made to the help content as a result.

Thanks for doing this.  I’ve taken a very quick look at your document and it looks quite helpful.  I’m finishing up an addition to the Help for the new Calibration Assistant and when that’s done, I will work through your document and make changes.

Hi Bruce-san,
Sorry, I would like to send you a translation file, but the file size is so large that I get a sending error from here, and the same goes for using the e-mail reply, is there a better way?

Hi,

PHD2 v2.6.11dev4 user guide web formatting.

When we created the site, we paid particular attention to security measures when accessing external links.
For example, "Wiki" on the PHD2 Google forum
https://github.com/OpenPHDGuiding/phd2/wiki/CameraSupport
I have considered the following.
Add the text target="_blank" in the A tag, example usage is below.

<a href="https://github.com/OpenPHDGuiding/phd2/wiki/CameraSupport" target="_blank" rel=”noopener noreferrer”>

1) target=”_blank” - This is one of the link tag attributes that specifies that the link should open in a new window (tab).
The target="_blank" will display the homepage in a new window.
However, security issues have been pointed out for target=”_blank”.
Suppose that link source A and link destination B are opened in separate tabs in the same browser.
If the JavaScript script "window.opener" that can operate the link source A is executed at the link destination B, there is a possibility that the link source A will be tampered with.

2) As a countermeasure against the risk of such tampering, "rel=”noopener””, which makes it impossible to refer to the link     source from the link destination using “window.opener” for the link with target=”_blank” set. is to attach Furthermore, by     adding an attribute "rel=”noreferrer”” that does not send the link source information to the link destination, it is possible to     support browsers that do not support “rel=”noopener”.

Andy will do it when he gets a chance.  In the meantime, why don’t you post your translation on a cloud storage service, create a public link to it, and send that link to your friends or post it in a message on the PHD2 forum.  That’s how a lot of these things are done, not everything is linked from the PHD2 web site.
