I've searched and found old posts on old versions of the Celestron SSAG (Not the new model).  I've also found posts on the Orion AutoGuider [as used via the AVX "AutoGuider" port.]

Honestly I'm not sure I'm asking the right question here but bear with me and smack me if I'm under water too far please.

What I fail to find is anything indicating it is possible to use the "new" Celestron SSAG [C-SSAG for easier reference] as an AutoGuide camera while attached to the AVX mount and using CPWI (for N.I.N.A.).  To use the new SSAG it MUST be plugged into one of the AUX ports, NOT the AutoGuide port (this explicitly from Celestron and demonstrated by me).
This AutoGuider does have "LiveView" capability via its USB-C port.  Using LiveView mode interrupts any AutoGuiding within CPWI as one would expect, it can't guide without the camera within its control.

But why use the C-SSAG as a Guide Camera instead of use CPWI AutoGuide capability?  Well, because of PHD2 of course.  :)
And...
Unless I am mistaken.... and I very well could be....
Because I cannot guide using PHD2, the C-SSAG and N.I.N.A. and perform a scheduled meridian flip.  N.I.N.A. needs to rely on AutoGuide feedback and CPWI to tell when to do the meridian flip and then when guiding is ready to begin imaging again.

i.e.  how the heck can I 'guide' with PHD2 (which seems to be my only option in N.I.N.A.) and do a meridian flip when I cannot connect to the camera using PHD2 via CPWI?

This expensive C-SSAG auto-guider device is useless if you want to use PHD2.  As for NINA applications, you will have to ask on their forum.

Good luck,

Bruce

From my brief reading on the 'new' SSAG, it is a proprietary system, so you can't use it with PHD2. I may be wrong here, as I only spent a few minutes, but I did not see any references to using it outside of CPWI

That doesn't mean you can't use with NINA, but that would be a question to ask at NINA's discord server (there are many other guiding options available in NINA).

So perhaps you bought yourself into the celestron proprietary system.
